GIFs animate in the editor, but not in the published article.

It’s possible to insert animated GIFs into a blog post the way you would insert any other image, and the GIF will appear as an animation while you are editing the post. In the published version of the article, however, the GIF appears frozen, with only the first frame of the animation showing.
For reference, here is the animated GIF that I inserted:

Hello!That’s odd, when I view https://1999-personal.hashnode.dev/test-gif on my machine, the GIF is not animated.Here are details about the browser I use to view it:and here are the details on my operating system:I added the GIF by the drag-and-drop method, the same way that I usually add images. I does appear in the draft post, and it is displayed as animated, but when I publish the story, it static.Here is the post in question: https://todayilearned.hashnode.dev/parameter-estimation-for-the-multivariate-t-distribution. I have removed the GIF in favor of a series of static image files now because I would rather have a clunky solution than a broken article.

Oh, got it! This is a known issue with the firefox browser, the GIF should work on Chrome, kindly confirm this and let me know.

I see. I checked in Safari, and indeed, the GIF appears animated there.Is there any chance that this issue can be fixed? Apparently it’s not due to a technical limitation in Firefox, since it is able to show the animation in the GIF during editing as well as in my question above.
